Selena Gomez is redefining success and for her that means getting back to basics and simplifying her lifestyle.
Gomez sat down with Elle magazine for their October issue and revealed she has been selling off many of her possessions in an effort to bring more meaning to her life – and that has meant a move from bustling Los Angeles to Orange County.#SelenaGomez breaks her silence and shares an exclusive sneak peek at her new album for ELLE's October 2018 issue: https://t.co/miBADbR6Ht pic.twitter.com/f3LOxCXQj0

“It’s been such a release,” Gomez told the mag. “L.A.’s just gotten really claustrophobic for me. I can’t do any of the things I do here in L.A. It’s just impossible.”
Selena sold her $3.3 million Calabasas estate to French Montana and is also in the process of selling her $3 million Texas mansion and $2.8 million Studio City bungalow.
“I think everything in my life is being majorly downsized, in a very good way,” Gomez revealed. “I’m going back to simplicity. That’s always who I’ve been.”
For Gomez seeking more meaning to her life also means volunteering at a non-profit she is passionate about. Since March she has been spending five days a week working at A21, a global anti-human trafficking nonprofit.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on
Gomez – the most followed person on Instagram – also revealed she has taken a much needed break from the internet, telling Elle, “I haven’t been on the internet in months. I don’t have my password for Instagram. I have no apps on my phone, no photo editing apps…it’s about making a conscious effort – if I have a moment to be with my friends, I’ll take that time. So I don’t have any of it. I had to make that decision.” She now only updates Instagram from a friend’s phone who has access to her account.
“Right now I feel very sure of where I am,” Gomez revealed. “I don’t feel erratic, or emotionally unstable. Or like I can’t handle my emotions, like I used to. It’s kind of understanding myself a little more. By all means I don’t have myself figured out. But it feels good.”
