Hollywood Mourns Loss of ‘Star Wars’ Actress Carrie Fisher

Actress, Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars, has passed away.
The 60-year-old suffered a massive heart attack during a transatlantic flight from London to Los Angeles. Upon landing the actress, also a renowned author, was rushed to a nearby hospital but failed to regain consciousness. Source: Getty Images
Star Wars co-stars paid their respects to the actress – who is the daughter of Hollywood royalty Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher – on social media.
Harrison Ford Tweeted he was “shocked and saddened to hear the news about my dear friend.”
Mark Hamill revealed Carrie played a “crucial role in my professional & personal life, & both would have been far emptier without her.”
Singer Paul Simon, who was married to Carrie Fisher in the 1980’s posted, “Yesterday was a horrible day. Carrie was a special, wonderful girl. It’s too soon.”
Fisher’s daughter, Scream Queens star Billie Lourd, will care for Carrie’s famous therapy dog, Gary – a four-year-old French Bulldog.
