For years we have been told pets help with stress, yet one study claims your pet cat may actually make PMS symptoms worse!
According to The Telegraph a new study found that a parasite found in the feces of cats may be the cause of premenstrual dysphoric disorder – a severe form of PMS. Source: Google

The study was carried out by researchers at Juarez University in Mexico, but the study only looked at a small sample of women. Having said that toxoplasma gondii has been linked to the development of mental health issues such as schizophrenia. Studies have also found the parasite to be especially dangerous to pregnant women – hence the advice from health care professionals to leave cleaning out the litter box to someone else when you are pregnant.
When it comes to your furry friend’s litter box, health care officials suggest wearing plastic gloves and cleaning out the litter box on a regular basis.
