When it comes to holiday traditions, most families have something special they do each December. Whether it’s gifting PJ’s and a book each Christmas Eve, baking holiday cookies, heading to the movies on Christmas Day, or piling in the minivan to take in the holiday lights, it’s these yearly traditions that make the holidays extra special and bring families together.

When it comes to her own family traditions Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines reveals it’s one she snagged from her mother-in-law!
“Chip’s mom started a fun tradition when we first got married, where she would give us all an ornament at Thanksgiving,” the busy mom wrote on her blog. “I loved it so much that I started something similar. Every holiday season, I get Chip and the kids an ornament that goes along with a memory from that year. I write their name and the date on the bottom, so as they get older each one of them has a little collection that’s all their own.”
