Ariana Grande is suing Forever 21 for a whopping $10 million, alleging the clothing store benefitted from the singer’s brand.
The lawsuit claims Forever 21 approached Grande for an endorsement deal last year, which she declined, but according to InStyle, the complaint alleges Forever 21 stole “her name, likeness, and other intellectual property…by publishing at least 30 unauthorized images and videos misappropriating Ms. Grande’s name, image, likeness, and music in order to create the false perception of her endorsement.”
According to the complaint, Forever 21 reportedly hired an Ariana Grande lookalike to model their clothes and jewelry inspired by Grande’s “7 Rings” music video for an ad campaign.
TMZ reports Forever 21’s lookalike model also “reenacted scenes and shots” from Grande’s hugely successful Thank U, Next album in the ad campaign that ran in late 2018 and early 2019.
