Google Launches Game Streaming Platform

After announcing they were working on a games subscription service back in May, Google has finally launched Google Stadia, their much-anticipated game streaming platform.

According to CNet, the service will operate in much the same way as Netflix and Hulu, where you stream games to your mobile device, computer or TV with Google’s data center handling all of the processing.
To start streaming games now you will need to purchase the ‘Stadia Premiere Edition’ or ‘Founder’s Edition’ – otherwise you will need to wait until 2020 when you can play on the Stadia Base level for free and purchase individual games without the need for a subscription.
Google Stadia is available Pixel phones and tablets running Chrome OS, or via the Chrome browser on a computer. Google plans to expand Stadia to iOS and other Android devices next year.

As of yesterday’s release, games available include Mortal Kombat 11, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Samurai Shodown, Farming Simulator 2019, Football Manager 2020 and Rage 2, among others.
