NBC’s Today show weatherman Al Roker has revealed he is “feeling great” after undergoing emergency carpal tunnel surgery. Roker was whisked into surgery to fix a thumb issue that suddenly emerged during rehearsals for his Broadway debut in Waitresses, according to People.
“It had just gotten progressively worse to the point where Thursday, I lost use of my thumb during rehearsals,” Al revealed on Today. The sudden surgery wasn’t enough to keep Al away from his day job though – he was back on the Today set the very next day, sporting a bandage on his left wrist and hand. He will also be hitting the stage as Ol’ Joe in Waitresses when he makes his theater debut on Friday.
