Now that Amazon has been given the go ahead to officially acquire Whole Foods, it means we may be paying less for the organic range.
Both companies announced in a press release that Amazon will acquire Whole Foods on Monday and the retail giant will start lowering prices on some items immediately. Those with an Amazon Prime account will also be privy to certain perks and bonuses.
“Starting Monday, Whole Foods Market will offer lower prices on a selection of best-selling staples across its stores, with more to come,” the statement promised. “Customers will enjoy lower prices on products like Whole Trade bananas, organic avocados, organic large brown eggs, organic responsibly-farmed salmon and tilapia, organic baby kale and baby lettuce, animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef, creamy and crunchy almond butter, organic Gala and Fuji apples, organic rotisserie chicken, and much more.”
Those with an Amazon Prime account will be able to have Whole Foods’ private label products delivered directly to their door, and Whole Foods will treat Prime like a member rewards program.
