Bill Cosby has been sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison after being convicted of drugging and molesting a woman in 2004.
About a dozen women who have accused the actor of sexual assault attended the hearing in a Norristown, Pennsylvania courtroom in which presiding Judge Steven O’Neill labeled Cosby a “sexually violent predator.”
According to ABC News, that designation will require Cosby to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
During the proceeding Cosby’s legal team requested the 81-year-old comedian be placed under house arrest. However, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele urged the judge to throw out the house arrest request saying the use of “he’s too old to go to prison is a get-out-of-jail-free card.”
