Eating an Avocado a Day Could Help With This!

We all know that avocados are chock full of healthy fats and nutrients, but a new study has found they could also be good for your gut.
According to Health, a study carried out by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign found that people who ate avocados on a daily basis produced metabolites that supported better gut health.
The study also noted those who noshed on an avocado each day also had more gut microbes that break down fiber than those who didn’t eat avocados. They also had greater microbial diversity
“Microbial metabolites are compounds the microbes produce that influence health,” Sarah Thompson, a graduate student in the Division of Nutritional Sciences and lead author of the paper, said in a statement. “Avocado consumption reduced bile acids and increased short-chain fatty acids. These changes correlate with beneficial health outcomes.”
