If you’re self-employed, or work remotely and looking to move to the great Midwest, you could snag yourself an extra $10,000!
Tulsa Remote – a foundation funded by the George Kaiser Family Foundation – is offering 250 people $10,000 to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to CNN, the money comes in the form of a grant and is dispersed to the recipient over the course of a year.
Not only does the move include cash, but the program also offers free workspace, housing specials on certain apartments and community hangouts and meetups.
“We wanted to remove the barrier to come from other cities – and the money got people’s attention,” Tulsa Remote’s Aaron Bolzle told CNN. “If we could get people to come for a year, we believed we could get them to stay longer.” Bolzle told CNN 12 of this year’s recipients have already bought houses in the community.
According to CNN, the rules to apply are pretty simple:
“Applicants must be full-time remote workers or be self-employed outside of Oklahoma and eligible to work in the United States,” CNN reveals. “They must be older than 18 and be able to move to Tulsa within six months. Once accepted, recipients agree to live in Tulsa for at least one year.”
