Hugh Hefner Sells Iconic Playboy Mansion

It’s the end of an era!
The iconic Playboy Mansion will soon have a new owner. The home is reportedly in escrow, selling to Hugh Hefner’s neighbor, Daren Metropoulos. Although the property will have a new owner, the contract allows for Hugh Hefner to remain in the home until his passing. Source: Jim Bartsch via The Agency
The property was listed for a monstrous $200 million, but the actual purchase price remains undisclosed. According to reports, Metropoulos bought the home for over $100 million.
Prior to the purchase, Playboy Enterprises CEO Scott Flanders released a statement to E! News claiming, “This is the right time to seek a buyer for this incredible property who understands the role the Mansion has played for our brand and enables us to continue to reinvest in the transformation of our business.” He added, “The Playboy Mansion has been a creative center for Hef as his residence and workplace for the past 40 years, as it will continue to be if the property is sold.”

The home sit on 5 acres and boasts 29 rooms, a home theatre, wine cellar, and gym spanning 20,000 square feet. It features a guest house and swimming pool featuring the infamous gratto.
