Kelly Clarkson successfully secured her third win as a coach on The Voice with country-crooner Jake Hoot winning a talent-filled season 17. The win came as a shock for Tennessee native Hoot, who shared following his big win, “It means the world. I think I went out of breath. I lost all my breath when they announced my name.” “Having Kelly believe in me from the get-go and being here tonight is just an incredible thing,” the 31-year-old told reporters backstage. Hoot was named champion after beating out Team Gwen’s Rose Short, Team Blake’s Ricky Duran, and Team John Legend’s Katie Kadan.
The star-studded finale of season 17 of The Voice featured performances by The Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Hudson, Dua Lipa, Lady Antebellum, and last season’s Voice champ, Maelyn Jarmon.
