If adopting a flexitarian diet is part of your mission for 2021, you will want to make Jimmy Dean’s new plant-based offerings part of your breakfast routine.
The food company, famous for their sausage biscuits and other meaty breakfast sandwiches, is following other major food brands by adding plant-based ingredients to their repertoire.
Jimmy Dean announced they will be rolling out two delicious-sounding breakfast sandwiches – a Plant-Based Patty Egg & Cheese Croissant and a Plant-Based Patty & Frittata Sandwich.
According to a press release from Jimmy Dean, the Plant-Based Patty Egg & Cheese Croissant will feature a patty made of soy protein and egg whites, combined with American cheese and whole eggs all sandwiched together between a flaky croissant.
The Plant-Based Patty & Frittata Sandwich will also feature a meat-free patty, this time consisting of soy protein, black beans, brown rice, quinoa, and egg whites. The patty will be topped with spinach and egg white frittata, American cheese and sandwiched in between a whole-wheat English muffin.
The Plant-Based Egg & Cheese Croissant will be hitting store shelves this month, with the Plant-Based Patty & Frittata Sandwich expected to roll out sometime in the spring.
