Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss has shared winning The Masked Singer has given her renewed confidence as a singer. The former Xscape member, who performed as the Night Angel on the hit Fox network show, shared her excitement of winning during a virtual interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I think for a long time I haven’t put out any music as a solo artist, and then doing this show it just kind of revitalized me and made me want to do music again. Like, I actually dropped a new single right now and I’m super excited about it,” she told Ellen. Burruss, who has written, or co-written many hit songs including the infamous TLC hit “No Scrubs”, told Ellen she was initially approached about appearing on The Masked Singer during the first season, but couldn’t due to other commitments.
“But after I saw T-Pain do it, I was like, ‘Hmmm. I need to try to do this if the opportunity ever comes back up.’ And it did,” Burruss shared with Ellen.
The Masked Singer will return to Fox this Fall.
