Looney Tunes Ditching Guns for New Cartoons

‘Looney Tunes’ cartoon characters are getting a makeover – a gun-free makeover.
According to the TODAY show, new ‘Looney Tunes’ cartoons set to air on HBO Max will not showcase any firearms, meaning Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam will be featured without their accompanying guns.

“We’re not doing guns,” executive producer Peter Browngardt told the New York Times. “But we can do cartoony violence – TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in.”
Instead of sporting his regular gun, Elmer Fudd will instead carry a scythe on his mission to hunt “wabbits” TODAY reports.
According to CNN, “no mention is made of whether or not the guns being removed was a response to gun violence and school shootings in the US.”
