Mariah Carey’s Billboards Banned in California for Being “Too Sexy”

As part of the promotion for the return of Mariah Carey to Las Vegas for her residency at Caesars Palace, the pop diva signed off on billboards to be placed near Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport and John Wayne Airport in Orange County located in southern California, according to TMZ. Both airports are major hubs for those traveling to from L.A. to Las Vegas.
Turns out, the advertisements, which reportedly cost Mimi thousands, were deemed “too sexy” and were banned by the airports, TMZ reports.
The billboards reportedly feature the “We Belong Together” singer showing off her lady parts, her breasts barely covered by a gold sheet.
Although reports claim the billboards were banned, spokeswoman Lucy Burghdorf for the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport told USA Today, “The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority received a proposal to post a Mariah Carey advertisement. It did not ban the proposed artwork. It simply requested that the artwork be revised.”
In true Mariah fashion, she’s reportedly fighting for the originals to be displayed sans censorship.
