Mark Zuckerberg has officially joined the centibillionaire list – an extremely small and exclusive club of people worth over $100 billion.
The Facebook CEO officially became a centibillionaire on Thursday after Facebook shares surged following the addition of Reels on Instagram, set to compete with the video-sharing app TikTok, CNN reports. According to People, Zuckerberg, who co-founded Facebook from his Harvard dorm room back in 2004, joins Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos as the only other people with centibillionaire status.
CNN reports Zuckerberg owns a 13 percent stake in Facebook. The 36-year-old has, in the past, said he eventually plans to give away 99 percent of his Facebook shares over his lifetime through his charitable foundation.
