The Rolling Stones have postponed the North American leg of their No Filter tour so that Mick Jagger can undergo heart surgery.
According to Rolling Stone magazine, the surgery will replace a valve in Jagger’s heart. A rep for the band initially shared news of the tour postponement stating, “Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment. The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.” Jagger revealed he was “devastated” at having to postpone the tour, telling fans, “I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can.”
According to Rolling Stone, the 75-year-old rocker will undergo surgery later this week in New York and is expected to make a full recovery so that he can return to touring sometime over the summer.
