Pantone has dubbed the yellow hue “Illuminating” sharing, “It’s a bright and cheerful yellow sparkling with vivacity, a warming yellow shade imbued with solar power.”
To balance the bright, optimistic yellow, Pantone has also chosen an “Ultimate Gray” as its second 2021 Color of the Year, saying of the choice, “Ultimate Gray is meant to evoke solid and dependable elements, which are everlasting and provide a firm foundation.”
According to People, Pantone predicts “Illuminating” and “Ultimate Gray” will show up in fashion, beauty, home decor and even product packaging over the next year.
