An Iowa woman who shared a nearly $700 million Powerball jackpot has donated $500,000 to a veterans group, according to ABC News. Lottery winner Lerynne West gave the half a million donation to Maine-based organization the Travis Mills Foundation, which offers programs for disabled veterans.
The single mom of three, who since winning $343,900,000 has started The Callum Foundation in honor of her late grandson, made the announcement on the Ellen show, telling host, Ellen Degeneres, it’s important we “never forget the sacrifices our soldiers and families make for our country.”
