Redbox is entering streaming wars with the launch of their Redbox Free Live TV.
However, the service will differ from the type of live TV found on YouTube TV and instead will offer a selection of curated ad-supported TV shows and movies, similar to the ROKU channel, according to TechCrunch.
USA Today reports the service will feature shows such as “Forensic Files” and “Family Feud” and will have news streaming courtesy of USA Today and TMZ. They will also offer categories devoted to pets, kids and food content.
According to CNET, Redbox is rolling out the new service nationwide soon, but for now is limiting it to a “select audience.”
