The year 2018 is going to be an exciting one for Great Britain’s Royal Family! Not only are William and Kate expecting their third child, Clarence House just announced the official engagement of Prince Harry and former
Suits actress Meghan Markle.
Clarence House, which is the home of Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, released the official announcement on Monday morning, writing, “His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle. The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty the Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.”
Harry and Meghan, who have been dating for approximately a year and a half, first went public with their relationship at the Invictus Games in September 2016.
According to the released statement from Clarence House, the couple will wed sometime in the Spring, although it’s likely they will plan the big event after William and Kate welcome their new royal baby.
Prince Harry, 33, is fifth in line to the British throne, but will drop down a place after William and Kate’s child is born. As he is a successor to the throne he would have been required to get his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s approval to propose to Meghan, 36.
