Three simple diet changes helped one woman shed an unbelievable 135 pounds – and keep it off!
Speaking with
Women’s Health, Angelina Cons revealed she had struggled with her weight beginning in fourth grade, but a photograph taken by a stranger on her 21st birthday made her realize she needed to lose weight for her mental well-being and health.
“When I saw it I was so blown away by my body size,” Angelina told
Women’s Health. “I knew it was time to change.”
While her eating habits have changed throughout her weight loss journey, Angelina revealed the act of food logging, making healthy swaps and creating a calorie deficit has been the key to losing the weight and keeping it off.
“I’ve been logging my food using an app called Lose It! since 2015. I tried a number of special eating styles, but nothing stuck for more than a year, so I decided to try eating like an average healthy person by making healthy swaps,” Angelina told
Women’s Health.
“As it stands, I pretty much eat what I want to (in moderation), with lots of snacks, and a heavy focus on protein and fiber,” she continued. “I feel like this really works for me because I constantly feel satisfied from all the snacks, protein, and fiber. And I don’t feel limited or restricted, which was usually my undoing. I get to enjoy all my favorite foods without guilt this way!”
Angelina also made a point to hit the gym, citing resistance training as her favorite way to workout. And when COVID caused the gyms to close, Angelina brought her workouts home.
“My motto is slow and steady,” Angelina told
Women’s Health adding, “slow progress is still progress.”
“Losing the weight has been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself,” Angelina shared. “It has changed my life completely. I went from someone who was depressed, miserable, and constantly in pain, to someone who is beyond happy, energetic, and pain-free.”
