Scottish born Jane Parks won the lottery – something most of us could only dream about. But according to Jane, all that glitters is not gold.
Sweeping in 1 million British Pounds on the Euromillions lottery at the tender age of 17, Jane, now 21 claims the win ‘ruined her life.’
In an interview with The Sunday People Jane revealed winning the lottery isn’t all it’s cracked up to me, especially when you win at such a young age. Source: Jeff Holmes
“At times it feels like winning the lottery has ruined my life,” Jane revealed. “I thought it would make my life ten times better, but it’s made it ten times worse. I wish I had no money most days.”
Since winning the money, Jane has purchased two properties, vacationed in the Maldives, bought herself a Chihuahua, a purple range rover and had a boob job.
The problem Jane says is someone under the age of 18 should not be allowed to enter the lottery and so is considering suing Camelot, the company that runs the Euromillions lottery, for negligence.
“I think 18 should be the minimum age for winning the lottery, at the least,” Jane told The Sunday People. “The current age of 16 is far too young.”
According to Camelot Jane was provided with a financial adviser to help her figure out how to spend the money, but Jane revealed, “I’ve ready about other lottery winners who have just blown it all and I can totally see how it can be done. I was stuck in front of a financial adviser who was using words likes investment bonds. I had no clue what they meant.”
A spokesperson for Camelot told The Sunday People, “We have been in touch with Jane from time to time since her win to offer ongoing support. It’s always up to the winners if they decide they want to take up that support.”
