Demi Lovato Recovering as Ex Spends Hours at Bedside

Demi Lovato is recovering from a suspected overdose with ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama supporting the Sober singer as she remains hospitalized.

A source close to Lovato revealed to People, “Wilmer has spent hours at the hospital with Demi every day. He seems very concerned about her.”

The couple dated for six years before calling it quits in 2016. According to People, although Wilmer knew Demi was “going through a tough time” he was “shocked” after learning of the news and rushed to be by her bedside.

“He saw her through so many ups and downs and was her rock through some of her darkest moments,” a separate source told People. “To see her back in such a sad and vulnerable place is heartbreaking for him…Demi always hoped they would end up back together in the future. He’s the love of her life and vice versa.”
Lovato’s publicist released a statement last week telling worried fans Demi “is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support.”
