Singer Adele has been forced to cancel the final two shows of her tour after suffering vocal chord damage.
Sadly for Adele, the remaining shows were set to take place at London’s Wembley Stadium, a venue close to Adele’s heart.
Adele’s tour has taken in 121 shows over the last 16 months, but the singer revealed on Twitter the tour had taken a toll on her vocal chords, writing, “I had to push a lot harder than I normally do. I felt like I constantly had to clear my throat, especially last night. I went to see my throat doctor this evening because my voice didn’t open up at all today and it turns out I have damaged my vocal chords.”
Per doctor’s orders Adele was forced to cancel the remaining shows.
Adele posted a letter on Twitter revealing her devastation at having to cancel and begging forgiveness from fans.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry for your disappointment,” the singer wrote. “I’m sorry for the nights you would have had with your loved ones and the memories you would have made…I’m sorry for the time and money you’ve spent organizing your trips.”
Adele told fans at an earlier concert in Australia her
25 tour may well be her last.
