It was Kim Kardashian meets Marilyn Monroe at this year’s Met Gala!
The reality star, renowned for her jaw-dropping Met Gala looks, arrived at this year’s event donning a dress that Marilyn Monroe wore.
According to Yahoo! Life, the gold dress was worn by Monroe when she sang “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy back in 1962.
Although Marilyn Monroe was renowned for her curves, Kim Kardashian revealed she had to lose weight to fit into the iconic gown.
“I always thought she was extremely curvy. I imagined I might be smaller in some places where she was bigger and bigger in places where she was smaller. So when it didn’t fit me I wanted to cry because it can’t be altered at all,” Kardashian shared with Vogue.
Kardashian was so determined to fit into the dress that Yahoo! Life reports she lost 16 pounds.
The SKIMS founder even spent 14 hours before the event dyeing her hair platinum blonde, just like Marilyn’s.
