According to Australian news program A Current Affair, the September cruise was taken over by a group of over a thousand businessman on a conference from Indian tobacco company Kamla Pasand.
Fellow passengers onboard the ship were mortified to find the businessmen turned the cruise into a raucous party featuring Playboy bunny and burlesque-clad women. The group took over the pool, bars, decks and buffet forcing passengers to find other areas of the ship to seek refuge. One woman even revealed that some of the businessmen were taking pictures of her teen daughter and her friends with their cell phones.
“It was crazy….little playboy bunny outfits, you know this is a family boat,” one passenger told A Current Affair puzzled as to why Royal Caribbean failed to inform passengers such a large corporate group were booked on the boat. “I think they should have notified us that there was a big group that had been booked and had booked the pool deck out.”
“It was almost like a huge bucks [bachelor] party for 1200 people,” Sydney passenger Cassandra Riini told A Current Affair. “Their doors would be open and you would walk past and be like what am I going to be looking at when I walk past this door?”
Royal Caribbean International has investigated the complaints and issued full refunds to passengers.
