Ryan Seacrest Will Return to Host ‘American Idol’

Despite his busy schedule, Ryan Seacrest has revealed he will come back to host the revamped ABC revival of American Idol.

The star hosted the original American Idol, which ran on the Fox network for fifteen seasons.

Seacrest made the announcement on his morning show Live with Kelly and Ryan letting co-host Kelly Ripa spill the beans to a round of applause. Ryan told views, “I’m very excited,” comparing it to being in a fifteen year relationship and then, without any reason, breaking up and then getting back together.

The busy host released an official statement saying, “It’s genuinely hard to put into words what ‘American Idol’ means to me. I’m so grateful for the show and all the career and life opportunities it’s allowed me to experience…To be asked to return this year, at my new home at Disney/ABC is an honor, if not a bit surreal. I believe ABC is the perfect home for ‘Idol.’”
