Black was the color of choice for Sunday evening’s Golden Globe awards as celebrities stood in solidarity to support the Time’s Up movement for victims of sexual assault and harassment.
The Time’s Up movement has so far garnered the support of 300 celebrities and raised approximately $15 million, according to People. Monies raised go towards a legal defense fund for those who have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace.I am wearing black today because balance and inclusion and diversity is not some kind of allowance to be made to accommodate people. No, sir. It is a correction of an error. It is a righting of a wrong. And it is going to be done. Now. #TimesUp pic.twitter.com/nVkhWubEwq

“This is a moment of solidarity, not a fashion moment,” actress Eva Longoria told the New York Times of her decision to join the cause. “For years we’ve sold these award shows as women, with our gowns and colors and our beautiful faces and our glamour. This time the industry can’t expect us to go up and twirl around. That’s not what this moment is about.”🙌🏼 #TIMESUP #WhyWeWearBlack #GoldenGlobes2018
