The couple, who share a son named Bear together, shared almost identical messages on social media breaking the sad news.

We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.

The couple first met in 2008 on the U.K reality show X Factor when Cheryl was a judge and Liam a mere 14-year-old contestant. They started dating in December 2015 and welcomed son, Bear, in March 2017.
