Lizzo is looking to help women “radiate inner confidence” thanks to her new shapewear line, Yitty.
The all-inclusive shapewear line will be available in sizes from XS to 6X and will launch on April 12. The company is also carbon-neutral with more than 65 percent of its styles created from recycled fibers.
“I was tired of seeing this sad, restrictive shapewear that literally no-one wanted to wear,” the
Good as Hell singer said in a statement reported by
People. “I had an epiphany like, ‘who can actually do something about this?’ I decided to take on the challenge of allowing women to feel unapologetically good about themselves again,” said the three-time Grammy winner in a statement.
According to a press release, Yitty (which was Lizzo’s childhood nickname) is described as a “revolutionary shapewear brand” that exudes “self-love, inner confidence, and effortless, everyday wear.”
“Instead of thinking about size in this linear way, we’re thinking about it on a spectrum where everyone is included,” Lizzo said. “Everyone’s size is just their size. It’s not high, it’s not low. It’s not big, it’s not small. It’s just your size.”
