Sephora is temporarily closing all of their locations during the morning of June 5 to train employees on how to promote inclusion in the beauty community.
The move comes after musician SZA tweeted earlier in the month an employee at a Calabasas, California Sephora called security on her.
Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing . We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy— SZA (@sza) May 1, 2019
“We take complaints like this very seriously, profiling on the basis of race is not tolerated at Sephora,” the company said in a statement to Business Insider. “Our purpose has always been rooted in our people and ensuring that Sephora is an inclusive and welcoming space for all our clients.”
