As frigid temps spread across the country it’s hard to keep skin looking and feeling healthy. As cold as it might get, it is possible to have glowing skin and, more importantly, protect it from dry, winter weather.

Layer Skin Care Products

I love how it says "sunny" 🙄🙄. Good grief, it's cold! This frigid cold weather can wreak havoc on your skin. Blasting the heat indoors, harsh winds and freezing air outside, low humidity, etc…it's a recipe for dry and dehydrated skin. It's critically important that you layer a hydrating serum under your moisturizer to help maintain the water content in your skin. Seal it all up with a rich facial cream. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️At home, do sheet mask facial treatments such as LeMieux's Biocell masks, Hydrating Moisture masks, or a creamy mask like LeMieux's Hyaluronic Shea Mask . Winter is the perfect time to start layering those skin care products to really protect and hydrate the skin. Invest in a good hydrating serum and use it religiously under your regular daytime moisturizer. You will also want to use it under your nightly moisturizer, which should be a rich night cream to help soften, replenish and hydrate the skin.
Hand Cream Heaven
Don’t neglect your hands during winter! Carry a good hand cream in your purse and apply throughout the day. The skin on our hands are especially vulnerable to frosty temps. Add to this the drying formula of hand soap and hand sanitizer and it’s a recipe for dry, chapped skin and brittle nails. A rich hand cream will help prevent this.
Look After the Lips

Decisions – we make 'em everyday. Dry, chapped lips are no joke and we go over + beyond during the cold weather months to prevent and treat this issue.😩 For as long as I can remember, I have been a chapstick addict – grabbing one every single time I'm in line at the grocery store. Never once did I give any thought to the fact that I was buying these constantly because I was applying them constantly…with no real sense of 'relief'. 🙈 Last Summer I started using a lip oil and I am telling you right now it's been one of the best decisions I've made for me. Lip oils not only lubricate the outside of the lips but also hydrate from the inside. This is something chapsticks are unable to do because of their thick texture. 😉 If you're looking for a cure this year for your chapped lips problems – grab the oil. Solve the problem – don't just mask it! 💋 CourtneyAnn.willingbeauty.com #skincare #chappedlips #drylips #lipoils #willingbeauty #willingbeautycourtneyann #healthyskin #healthylips #seeksimplicity #choosewisely #coconutlips

The delicate lip area can become chapped and extremely sore during winter. To prevent painful lips make sure to exfoliate to soften the skin once a week and apply a good chapstick, or lip balm throughout the day.
Give Skin a Boost with a Water Based Moisturizer
During the winter our skin begs for more moisture, so it’s a great time to swap out your regular moisturizer for a water-based one to help keep skin hydrated.
Use a Humidifier
Combat winter dryness by investing in a humidifier. Humidifiers add moisture back into dry winter air and that helps keep skin hydrated. In fact, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a humidifier if your skin gets really dry!
