U.S. Health Officials have said it’s safe to eat romaine lettuce again, but are urging consumers to check the label first.
Last week the FDA issued a warning not to eat any romaine due to an E.coli outbreak, but according to the Associated Press, they are narrowing down that warning saying the tainted lettuce appeared to only come from the Central Coast region of California.
The FDA now say to look for romaine that has been recently harvested in Florida, Arizona, Mexico and California’s Imperial Valley.
According to the Associated Press, the produce industry plans to start putting harvest dates and regions on labels and for romaine that doesn’t come packaged, retailers are being asked to post all pertinent information by the register.
