With the busy holiday season fast approaching, who has time to whip up a batch of homemade cookies? Not the writers at Insider apparently, who tested six of the most popular ready-to-bake cookie dough brands to see which one earned their top vote.
According to Insider, the lucky taste-testers got to bake and eat the following ready-to-bake cookie dough brands: Annie’s Homegrown, Sweet Loren’s, Great Value, Pillsbury, Soozie’s Doozie’s, and Nestle. For the sake of consistency, Insider picked the standard chocolate chip variety, or chocolate chunk if chocolate chip was unavailable.
When it came to picking a favorite the folks at Insider picked a tried-and-true household staple – Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies.
According to Insider, Nestle Tollhouse came out tops thanks to its delicious taste after baking. At only 80 calories per cookie, the taste-testers at Insider also loved how Nestle Tollhouse ready-to-bake cookies maintained their chewiness – even a day after baking. Insider found the cookies to have that all-important perfect ratio of chocolate chips to cookie dough, plus the raw dough was easy to separate when it came time to baking.
